I grew up next door in Poway, so RB was always the neighborhood over. A lot of the homes here went up in the ’60s and ’70s, with mature trees, tile roofs and a canyon right behind the back fence. Pests like all three.
What I see most in Rancho Bernardo:
- Rodents in tile roofs, mature trees and the canyons behind the house
- Gophers along the golf course edges and in any lawn they can reach
- Ants that head inside when the summer heat hits
- Spiders in block walls, garages and side yards
Tile roofs give rodents a lot of ways in, so I check the roofline and the attic vents, not just the ground.
